Of someone who doesn't really know anything.

Not always right.

An entry from a blog that has been entertaining me lately…

(Grocery Store | USA)

(I am checking out a customer and taking their details.)

Me: “Ma’am, what is your street name?”

Customer: “I don’t really have one of those. I usually just go by Shanice.”

Me: “Uh, ma’am, I meant the street name where you live.”

Customer: “Oh, I knew that!”

Today I had a close call.

Good lord.

I was nearly arrested today. I got pulled over for expired tags and turned out I had a warrant out for my arrest because apparently I forgot to pay a fine.

WHO KNEW!?

The cuffs were out.  They told me how much my bail was set for.  And then I called my mom when I was supposed to be calling someone to come get my car so I wouldn’t have to pay to get it towed. Because I was, you know, going to jail.  And my mom somehow talked them out of it.  It was a freaking miracle.

Happy Tuesday.

Over-valued possessions, we decided, were a burden, possessing their owners. We decided to own nothing that we couldn’t be comfortable without—reproductions not originals, cheap bindings not rare editions. This idea of the burden of possessions we held to—and years later when we got out first glossy new car, we hit it severely with a hammer to make it comfortably dented

Today, my heart misses this place.

I have been reading a book about legalized prostitution and it has reminded me of the great interest and passion I have for the women who are involved in prostitution and sex trafficking.  It’s crazy how easy it can be to forget and lose sight of that in the midst of all of the changes and uncertainty life is throwing at me right now.  It has been good to be reminded of what the goal is and where all of this will hopefully take me someday.
